Vitamin C
In the early 1930’s Ascorbic Acid was discovered by a Hungarian biochemist researcher. In 1933 Vitamin C was the first vitamin to be chemically produced. Today VC is available as a generic medication and over-the-counter drug. Lately, VC supplements have increased in popularity due to the beneficial health reasons in supporting the immune system. Research has proven VC to be very important compounds that can oxidate free radicals. The main raw material for the production of Vitamin C (Ascorbic Acid) is corn or wheat. Today, most Vitamin C is synthetically produced in China and is derived from corn starch, corn sugar or rice starch. We are proud to exclusively represent CSPC Weisheng for our VC portfolio. They started their research with the two-step fermentation in 1969 and the company was founded in 1994. They are the largest manufacturing base for Ascorbic Acid in the world.
